This section describes how to upgrade from NotateXpress 12 to NotateXpress 13. While generally you'll be able to replace NotateXpress 12 with NotateXpress 13, there are a few important changes you may need to consider. This section provides information about those changes.

Library Name, GUID, and ProgID

• The library name has changed from AccusoftNotateXpress12 to AccusoftNotateXpress13.
• The GUID for the NotateXpress ActiveX control has changed from {C233787D-CD3A-479A-8C49-837F735C51B6} to {D99F1BFF-ADFB-45F9-B625-95A72C7DF808} in NotateXpress 13.
• The ProgID has changed from ‘Accusoft.NotateXpress.12’ to ‘Accusoft.NotateXpress.13’.

API Changes

NotateXpress 13 API has changed as follows:

• When a Freehand, Line, Polygon, Polyline, Protractor, or Ruler annotation was programmatically created without specifying Points, the BoundingRectangle would be used instead to define the Points. This behavior was unintended and has been removed; Points must be defined when programmatically creating these annotation types.
